How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Position - 1:1 Primary Teaching Assistant

    Location - Havering

    Full time - Monday to Friday 8.30am till 3.30pm

    As a 1:1 primary teaching assistant, your main role is to support the learning and development of a specific student within a classroom setting. This student may have special educational needs or require additional support to meet their learning goals.

    Your responsibilities may include:

    Working closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver appropriate learning activities and interventions for the student.
    Providing one-to-one support to the students during lessons, helping them to understand concepts and complete tasks.
    Monitoring and recording the student's progress and reporting back to the teacher
    Adapting resources and materials to meet the student's individual needs
    Supporting the student with their social and emotional development
    Liaising with parents and other professionals involved in the student's care, such as educational psychologists or speech therapists.To be an effective 1-2-1 primary teaching assistant, you should have good communication skills, be patient and understanding, and be able to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals. You should also have a good understanding of child development and be able to adapt your approach to meet the needs of individual students.
