How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Interim Group Financial Accountant - Malton - £60,000 - £80,000
     
    We are seeking an experienced Group Financial Accountant to join one of our key clients to support their financial reporting team on a 6-month interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in financial reporting across both the German division and the wider European organisation based in the UK.
    Reporting into the Group Finance function, you will support both internal and external reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial information.

    Key Responsibilities

    Prepare statutory reporting information for the German Group
    Support and/or lead German statutory audit processes
    Assist with financial reporting across the wider European Group
    Produce monthly management accounts for central functions, including recharges, prepayments, and accruals
    Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
    Support the tax team with VAT return preparation and submissions
    Assist with tax authority information requests
    Provide financial insight and support to accounting and reporting teams
    Lead or contribute to ad hoc projects and financial analysis as requiredAbout You

    Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
    Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience
    Strong financial accounting background, ideally with knowledge of Germany or other European accounting standards
    IT literate including Excel and ERP Systems  
    Highly analytical with strong problem-solving capabilities
    Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
    Confident communicator, able to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders
