How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Supply Register is proud to be working in partnership with the NCG to recruit dedicated Learning Support Assistants to support multiple colleges across South London.

    This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to learners’ lives by providing high-quality, personalised support across a wide range of subjects and learning needs.

    We are seeking Learning Support Assistants on a Supply FE Bank (sessional) basis, with opportunities offered based on skill set, availability, and college requirements across the NCG network.

    The Role

    As a Learning Support Assistant within NCG South London colleges, you will support learners to access their studies, develop independence, and achieve their full potential.

    Responsibilities include:

    Providing one-to-one and small group support across subjects
    Supporting students with SEND, EHCPs, and other learning barriers
    Assisting lecturers with classroom activities, differentiation, and inclusive teaching strategies
    Creating a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment
    Encouraging learner engagement, confidence, and progress
    Collaborating with teaching staff, support teams, and external professionals

    What We’re Looking For

    We welcome applications from:

    Experienced Learning Support Assistants
    Individuals with backgrounds in education, care, or youth support
    Candidates seeking full-time, part-time, or sessional work
    Essential / desirable:

    Experience supporting learners in educational or support settings
    Understanding of SEND, learning barriers, and inclusive support strategies
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with learners
    Patience, adaptability, and a learner-focused approach
    Relevant qualifications in learning support, education, or care (desirable)
    Further Education experience (desirable)
