How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The role

As Project Manager - Major Water Projects, you will take ownership of large-scale construction programmes within the water sector, ensuring delivery to time, cost, quality and regulatory standards. You will operate strategically, translating programme-level objectives into practical delivery plans and leading multidisciplinary teams across engineering, commercial and planning functions.

    Key responsibilities

Lead delivery of major capital projects up to £100m across the full project lifecycle
Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, health & safety standards and governance processes
Champion a Zero Harm culture through audits, peer reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
Build and develop high-performing project teams across engineering, commercial and operational disciplines
Translate programme strategy into clear deliverables, ensuring teams understand priorities and expectations
Maintain oversight of project scope, construction delivery, handover and post-completion warranty management
Work collaboratively with Commercial and Planning teams to manage budgets, forecasts and resources
Ensure solutions are safe, commercially viable and aligned to project and regulatory requirements
Deliver key project milestones including Project Rehearsals and Fit for Assembly
Promote collaborative working across alliance partners to drive innovation and knowledge sharing

    Requirements

Proven Project Manager experience delivering major construction or infrastructure projects (£30m+)
Experience within the water sector desirable, though major civil engineering or infrastructure backgrounds considered
Strong knowledge of CDM regulations, Health & Safety compliance and construction best practice
    IOSH qualification (or equivalent)
Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
Understanding of NEC contracts (Option C preferred)
    APMP qualification desirable
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
Strategic mindset with the ability to balance commercial, operational and technical priorities

    Why apply?

Opportunity to lead high-value, nationally significant infrastructure projects
Work within a highly respected UK alliance environment
    Hybrid working with flexibility
Strong pipeline of secured projects providing long-term career stability
    Competitive salary and benefits package
Clear progression opportunities into Programme or Senior Leadership roles
Apply now to play a key role in shaping the future of UK water infrastructure and delivering projects that make a lasting environmental and community impact
