How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical ability and a proactive approach to maintaining quality and efficiency on the shop floor.

This is a position based on a 40-hour working week and an early finish on a Friday.

    Role Overview

    * Set and operate Wickman multi-spindle machines (or similar cam-driven / multi-spindle equipment).

    * Carry out tooling changes, machine set-ups, and adjustments to ensure optimal performance.

    * Read and interpret engineering drawings, ensuring components are produced to required tolerances.

    * Monitor production output and maintain high levels of quality and efficiency.

    * Work closely with the Quality team to ensure compliance with customer specifications.

    * Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime.

    * Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production environment.

    * Maintain a safe and organised working environment in line with company standards.

    Person Specification

    * Proven experience setting and operating Wickman machines or similar multi-spindle / cam-operated machinery.

    * Strong understanding of machining principles and high-volume production processes.

    * Ability to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances.

    * Hands-on, practical approach with strong problem-solving skills.

    * Able to work independently and use initiative to resolve issues.

    * Good attention to detail with a focus on quality.

    * Team player with strong communication skills.

    Essential Experience

    * Minimum 4+ years’ experience in a similar setting role within a manufacturing/engineering environment.

    * Experience working with multi-spindle automatics, sliding head, or similar high-volume production machinery
