We're looking for a highly detail-focused Inspector / Machinist to support inspection and CNC machining processes, ensuring all products meet strict medical and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform visual and dimensional inspections
Complete DIR reports and OGP scanning
Use precision measuring equipment (callipers, verniers, micrometers)
Record results accurately in Excel and internal systems
Reject and quarantine non-conforming product
Set, load, and operate CNC machines
Verify parts against engineering drawings and tolerances
Complete route cards, inspection sheets, and traceability documentation
Escalate quality or machine issues promptly
Support Lean, 5S, and EHS initiatives Essential Criteria:
Proven experience in CNC machining and/or inspection
Strong ability to use measurement tools (verniers, callipers, micrometres)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings & GD&T
Experience working to tight tolerances
Good working knowledge of quality control processes
Competent in Microsoft Excel and basic IT systems
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilityDesirable Criteria:
Experience within medical device, aerospace, or other regulated industries
Familiarity with OGP / CMM inspection equipment
Knowledge of ISO 13485 or similar quality standards
Previous experience with traceability and batch control
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement
Apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent)Behavioural & Performance Criteria:
