We are currently recruiting for an experienced Employment and Skills Officer to support the delivery of high-impact employability programmes within a busy public sector environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in connecting local people with sustainable employment opportunities, while working closely with employers, training providers, and key stakeholders.
The Role
You will lead on engagement with local businesses and partner organisations, identifying opportunities and developing pathways into employment for residents.
Key responsibilities include:
* Building and managing relationships with employers, training providers, and stakeholders
* Identifying job opportunities and aligning them with candidate needs
* Supporting the delivery of employability programmes and initiatives
* Gathering and analysing labour market intelligence and economic data
* Designing tailored recruitment and skills solutions
* Coordinating projects and ensuring successful delivery of outcomes
* Supporting events such as job fairs and community engagement activities
About You
We are looking for someone who is confident, proactive, and highly relationship-focused, with a strong understanding of employability and workforce development.
You will have:
* Proven experience in employment, skills, or employability programmes
* Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
* Experience in project coordination and delivery
* Ability to analyse labour market data and translate insights into action
* Excellent communication and influencing skills
* A collaborative approach with the ability to motivate and bring partners together
Requirements
* Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
* Enhanced DBS required
