How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Engineer – Slough Borough Council – SL1 2EJ

    2 years contract

    37 Hours per week

    HYBRID – 3 DAYS A WEEK

    £317 per day Umbrella

    I am currently representing Slough Borough Council who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 2 years with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate of which is negotiable dependent upon experience

    We are looking for a Engineer - Generic based at: Observatory House, Berkshire, SL1 2EJ

    Key Accountabilities:

    * Proficiency in industry-standard software, including Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Keylines, Keysigns, and Vehicle Tracking.

    * Produce design documentation for highway and transport projects, including concept, preliminary, and detailed designs (drawings, calculations, reports, and specifications).

    * Experience in designing public transport schemes, as well as cycling, walking, and road safety projects (both minor and major schemes).

    * Experience in budget monitoring and financial control.

    * Strong knowledge of UK highway design standards, including DMRB, Manual for Streets, and LTN 1/20 (Active Travel Guidance)
