How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Blue Skies Education are working in partnership with a leading specialist education provider that is seeking to appoint a skilled and passionate Occupational Therapist to join their multidisciplinary team in Barking.

This is a unique opportunity to work within a therapeutic education setting, supporting children and young people aged 7–19 who are unable to access mainstream education. The provision supports pupils with complex needs, including autism, social, emotional and mental health needs, and those who have experienced significant trauma and adverse childhood experiences.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who is committed to making a meaningful difference. You will deliver high-quality assessments and interventions, supporting pupils both within educational settings and in community environments across London and Kent.

You will play a key role within a collaborative therapy team, working closely with teaching and inclusion staff to create a consistent therapeutic approach. This includes advising on learning environments, supporting sensory development, and promoting a whole-school culture of therapeutic practice through training and staff development.

This role requires a resilient and reflective practitioner who can work both independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team, supporting some of the most vulnerable young people in education.

If you are a motivated Occupational Therapist looking for a role where you can have a direct and lasting impact, this position offers an incredibly rewarding opportunity.

Please call us for a detailed conversation and we can discuss how this role aligns with your career goals and aspirations.
