Location: London Gateway / Essex
Shift: Monday night to Saturday morning, 22:00–08:00
Salary: £33,500 starting salary + review after 6 months
A well-established and expanding logistics operation is seeking a Night Traffic Operator to support its overnight transport function. This is a key position within a busy container environment, suited to someone who is experienced, decisive, and comfortable working independently during high-pressure night shifts.
The Role
Working as part of a dedicated night team, you’ll oversee the smooth running of transport movements, ensuring drivers, ports, and internal systems remain fully aligned throughout the shift. This is a hands-on, real-time coordination role where quick thinking and accuracy are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and manage overnight vehicle movements
Maintain clear and consistent communication with drivers and port contacts
Respond to and resolve operational issues as they arise
Ensure all transport systems and documentation are accurate and up to date
Support the wider operation in maintaining service levels during peak activity
About You
Proven experience within container transport or a similar traffic/operator role
Confident working nights in a fast-paced, time-critical environment
Able to make sound decisions independently
Strong communication and organisational skills
Resilient, reliable, and comfortable managing operational challenges
