Job Title: Senior Electronics Design Engineer
Location: Greater Manchester (Hybrid – 4 days onsite)
Salary: Up to £55k (DOE)
We are looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer to lead a Hardware and Electronics Development team. You will play a key role in the development of next-generation electronic systems, supporting products from concept through to manufacture. This position combines hands-on design work with team leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
* Design electronic hardware including schematic capture and PCB layout
* Deliver product development projects from concept through to production
* Lead day-to-day activities of a small engineering team
* Interpret project requirements and communicate deliverables clearly
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including technology, operations, and manufacturing
* Identify and evaluate new technologies for future product development
* Support prototyping, testing, and new product introduction (NPI)
* Produce and manage design documentation, BOMs, and technical reports
* Ensure compliance with quality standards (e.g. ISO9001)
* Provide regular progress updates to senior leadership
About You
* Degree in Electronics Engineering or related discipline
* Minimum 5+ years’ experience in electronic hardware design
* Strong experience with schematic capture and PCB design (Altium preferred)
* Experience testing electronic components and assemblies
* Background in Digital, analogue, and microcontroller-based systems
* Proficient with communication protocols (e.g. LTE, Ethernet, CAN, I2C)
* Understanding of the full product development lifecycle
* Experience supporting manufacturing and NPI activities
* Comfortable working in a hands-on technical role
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
* Experience leading or mentoring engineers
