How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We’re supporting the growth of a specialist engineering team developing high-performance technology used in extreme operating environments. This is a newly created role, designed to strengthen materials capability within a multidisciplinary engineering team working on highly regulated, safety-critical products.

    You’ll provide hands-on and theoretical expertise across materials used in demanding thermal, mechanical and corrosive conditions. This role requires someone who understands both the make-up of materials and the practical implications of manufacturing processes.

    Mechanical Engineer
    Key Responsibilities

    Support material selection for high temperature and harsh environment applications
    Advise engineers on material properties, performance and limitations
    Assess the effects of manufacturing processes
    Ensure material properties are maintained through production processes
    Support design-for-manufacture activities and production readiness
    Evaluate physical property testing methods and interpret results
    Work alongside design and manufacturing engineers to preserve material strength
    Support root cause investigations relating to material performance
    Contribute to new product development and continuous improvement initiatives
    Mechanical Engineer
    Requirements:

    Experience working with metals and/or ceramics in engineering applications
    Understanding of materials in extreme thermal environments
    Knowledge of manufacturing processes and their effect on material properties
    Experience with physical property testing and validation
    Ability to bridge materials science and practical engineering application
    Strong communication skills with cross-functional engineering teams
