We currently have two Project Officer vacancies; one position is to join our Transport Programmes and Partnership team and the other is to join the Transport Infrastructure team (Development & Construction).
The Transport Programmes and Partnerships team is supporting exciting and ambitious programmes of transport infrastructure across West Yorkshire aimed at reducing reliance on car travel and increasing and improving infrastructure for public transport and cycling and walking. These programmes are vital in meeting our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region.
The Transport Infrastructure (Development & Construction) team, which is an integral part of the Capital Programme Directorate, has a diverse and wide-ranging portfolio. Recent projects delivered by the team include new Rail Stations; Bus Station Refurbishments; Rail Station Park and Ride Extensions and Office Refurbishments. We are also leading on developing the infrastructure required to deliver bus franchising.

The successful candidates will already have experience of working in a project delivery environment and have excellent organisation skills. The Role
Reporting into the Programme or Project Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
· Providing project and programme management support for major infrastructure transport schemes to improve transport across the region and managing the Grant Funding Agreements between the CA and Partners.
· Working with a wide range of stakeholders including District Project Managers, Senior Managers, Consultants, and Internal Colleagues (Legal, Comms, Transport Services and SPO) to help coordinate and assist in the delivery of projects.
· Leading on certain aspects of project/programme delivery such as, quarterly financial claims, meetings with district and internal partners and supporting schemes through the appraisal process.

About You
You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:
· Educated to degree level or equivalent education or practical experience of successfully performing in a similar role.
· A proven ability to apply project/programme management principles and techniques to a wide range of projects or programmes including financial management of projects/programmes.
· Proven ability to establish and maintain high effective working relationships with a range of internal/external stakeholders, alongside demonstrating a commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) at all times.
· Demonstrated ability as a confident and effective communicator, with the capability to tailor communication and influence or engage stakeholders in a professional setting.
· Experience of working in a project delivery environment, demonstrating excellent organisation skills.
