How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A well-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking a Fire Engineer to join their growing team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a Fire Engineer to work across a diverse portfolio of projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

    The successful Fire Engineer will be joining a forward-thinking organisation that places strong emphasis on technical excellence and professional development.

    The Fire Engineer's Role
    The Fire Engineer will be responsible for delivering fire strategy reports, conducting fire risk assessments, and supporting design teams with compliance advice. This Fire Engineer will work closely with architects and stakeholders to ensure fire safety is embedded throughout the design process.

    The Fire Engineer will also contribute to site inspections and provide technical guidance on fire safety standards and regulations. This Fire Engineer role offers exposure to high-profile projects and the opportunity to develop expertise across multiple sectors.

    The Fire Engineer
    To be considered for this Fire Engineer position, candidates should hold a degree in Fire Engineering or a related discipline.

    The Fire Engineer should ideally have experience within a consultancy environment and demonstrate a solid understanding of UK fire regulations and guidance.

    Strong communication skills are essential, as the Fire Engineer will liaise with both internal teams and external clients. Progress towards chartership is highly desirable.
