The Role
Cpl UK Healthcare are currently recruiting for a Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join a service in London working with a PMLD caseload. This is a term-time only position, offering a strong work-life balance while delivering highly specialist care.
Details
The role involves working with children and young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, supporting complex communication and swallowing needs. You will provide specialist assessment and intervention within an educational setting, working closely with staff, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Manage a specialist PMLD caseload with complex communication needs
- Complete comprehensive communication and dysphagia assessments
- Develop and implement individualised therapy and care plans
- Work collaboratively with school staff, families, and the multidisciplinary team
- Provide training and guidance to staff supporting students
- Maintain accurate clinical records and reports
Requirements
- HCPC registration
- Extensive experience in paediatric speech and language therapy, ideally with PMLD
- Strong knowledge of dysphagia and complex communication needs
- Ability to work independently within an educational setting
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
