How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Kinetic Industrial are working with a leading supplier of specialist cable products based in Blackley, who are looking to recruit a Part Time Production Operative.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business, offering a part-time role with the potential to move into full-time hours in the future.

    Working Hours (Rotating):
    * Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday - 08:30 to 17:00
    * Week 2: Monday, Tuesday - 08:30 to 17:00

    Please note: A drug and alcohol test will be carried out at interview stage. A negative result is required to be considered for the role.

    The Role:
    * Following job sheets and cutting orders accurately
    * Cutting, winding, packing, and processing cable products
    * Operating machinery safely and efficiently
    * Completing orders using scanners or manual systems
    * Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
    * Reporting faults, damaged goods, or safety concerns
    * Carrying out basic equipment checks and reporting defects
    * Adhering to health & safety and environmental procedures
    * Supporting the wider production team with general duties

    Requirements:
    * Good numeracy and literacy skills
    * Strong communication skills
    * Able to work independently and as part of a team
    * Reliable, hardworking, and self-motivated
    * Basic understanding of health & safety in a manufacturing environment
    * Previous production or quality experience (preferred)
    * Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
    * NVQ or equivalent (desirable)
    * Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
