How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    I am working with a secondary school in the Knowlsey area that requires an engaging Cover Supervisor for a role starting in April 2026. The role is to work within a school setting in which work will be provided and you will use it to deliver the lesson. The daily rate for this role is from £100 - £130 per day. Pay rate is dependant on level of qualifications, experience and additional training. Advertised rate of pay is inclusive of holiday pay.

    The ideal Cover Supervisor will have an outgoing personality and will maintain a high standard of classroom management, in order to keep students on task. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working in a school environment.

    Responsibilities of the Cover Supervisor

    Deliver secondary subjects to ages 11-16;
    Demonstrate strong classroom management and cover teaching using available resources within the classroom;
    Promote and push the students to achieve the expectations set in the absence of the teacher. To be considered for this position of Cover Supervisor you must have:

    Experience of group management of 11-18 year olds;
    Excellent and proven behaviour management experience;
    Shown commitment to learning and development of pupils;
    Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff and students.Examples of previously suitable candidates:

    Sports Coaches - Football, Rugby, Cricket, Swimming
    Dance teachers
    Teaching assistants with cover supervisor experience
    Playgroup leaders
