The Role
Due to an increase in contracts, our client is recruiting a Welding, Fabrication / Pipefitting End Point Apprenticeship Assessor to undertake End Point Assessments. This role will require travel to various locations throughout England, often including periods away from home, with a Midlands base being ideal.
Depending on the successful candidate’s experience, assessment of additional engineering-related standards may also be allocated.
Experience in assessment practice is desirable for the End Point Apprenticeship Assessor; however, training will be provided for suitably qualified and experienced engineers with a strong maintenance background.
End Point Apprenticeship Assessor – Job Description
* To comply with our client’s internal and statutory procedures relating to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Finance, IT, the environment, equipment, safeguarding, and health and safety.
* To monitor and maintain data systems to ensure accurate and relevant data is available.
* To ensure that any issues affecting performance, health and safety, motivation, or engagement are reported to management promptly.
Key Responsibilities
* To prepare for and undertake End Point Assessments in line with our client’s systems and practices within agreed timescales.
* To lead EPA activities with training providers and employers.
* To complete all EPAs and upload relevant documentation onto the ACE360 system within agreed timelines.
* To carry out checks on Gateway documentation provided by apprentices to ensure compliance with assessment plan requirements.
* To act as a credible ambassador
* To fulfil responsibilities professionally, adapting to changing priorities as required.
Objectives
* Prepare for EPA activity by reviewing apprentice work and preparing assessment questions.
* Conduct EPA activities and make competency judgements in line with the relevant apprenticeship standards.
* Undertake detailed checks on Gateway documentation to ensure compliance with published assessment plans.
* Work collaboratively with the IQA team to identify trends, support standardisation, and contribute to continuous improvement.
* Liaise with the IQA team to ensure feedback and improvements are communicated to training providers and employers.
* Work closely with the EPA team to maximise opportunities for apprentices to undertake EPAs.
Key Characteristics / Person Specification
Essential
* Recognised professional qualifications and experience in Welding, Fabrication / Pipefitting, or closely related disciplines.
* Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths (or equivalent).
* Knowledge of apprenticeships and End Point Assessment processes.
* Strong attention to detail and competent IT skills.
* A collaborative approach with proven teamwork ability.
* Strong customer focus with a commitment to delivery and outcomes.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Flexible and adaptable working approach.
* Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development.
Desirable
* Assessor qualification and/or significant experience in a standards-driven assessment environment.
* Experience working as an Independent End Point Apprenticeship Assessor.
