Salary: £50,000-£56,000
Hours: Monday-Friday

A hands-on Lead Engineer role within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, ideal for a strong Team Leader or Senior Engineer looking to step up, taking ownership of site maintenance activity, reliability improvement, and engineering standards across the plant.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead planned and preventative maintenance across all production and site equipment
- Ensure full statutory compliance and adherence to engineering standards
- Drive reliability, uptime, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead and develop a small multi-skilled engineering team
- Manage contractors, maintenance spend, and basic procurement activity
- Support breakdown response and long-term fault elimination
- Produce routine maintenance performance updates and improvement actions
- Support capital works and engineering projects from planning to delivery
- Ensure compliance with H&S, QA, and Management of Change processes
- Focus on reducing downtime and improving plant efficiency

What You'll Need

- Strong engineering background in a manufacturing environment (food/FMCG preferred)
- Experience as a Team Leader, Senior Engineer, or similar and ready to step up
- Confident leading small teams and driving standards on shift
- Good understanding of compliance, maintenance systems, and safety standards
- Comfortable working with contractors and production teams
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capability
- IT literate (basic CMMS / MS Office)
