The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead the internal fit out phase of a landmark £100m+ construction project in the heart of Manchester. This is a high-profile development offering the chance to play a key role in delivering a prestigious city-centre scheme to the highest standards of quality, safety, and programme.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for managing all internal fit out works from shell handover through to completion. You will coordinate subcontractors, drive programme delivery, maintain health & safety compliance, and ensure exceptional finish quality across multiple workfaces.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day site operations during the internal fit out stage
* Coordinate subcontractors, trades, and suppliers across multiple areas
* Drive programme milestones and short-term lookaheads
* Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to budget
* Maintain the highest standards of quality and finish
* Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and progress meetings
* Work closely with commercial, design, and client teams
* Resolve site issues efficiently and proactively
* Ensure all documentation, permits, RAMS, and records are up to date
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Site Manager on large-scale projects (£50m+ preferred)
* Strong internal fit out experience on commercial, residential, hotel, or mixed-use developments
* Excellent leadership and subcontractor management skills
* Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and site compliance
* Ability to manage fast-paced programmes and multiple packages simultaneously
* SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid essential
* Stable employment history with reputable main contractors preferred
