How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a highly regarded UK consultancy delivering nationally significant energy and infrastructure programmes. Known for its collaborative culture, strong technical capability, and hands-on leadership, the business supports complex projects across regulated sectors and offers a supportive environment for long-term career development.

This role sits within a flagship energy infrastructure programme in North Wales, connecting a new nuclear power station to the national grid. The project includes extensive 400kV overhead line works, a 4km tunnel beneath the Menai Strait, and major substation upgrades. You’ll be involved from the early design stage, offering genuine influence over commercial strategy and project outcomes.

The position offers hybrid working, combining home-based flexibility with regular collaboration from the Warrington office.

    Key Responsibilities:

Provide commercial and cost management support from early design through delivery

Prepare cost plans, budgets, forecasts, and financial reports

Support procurement strategy and tendering activities

Administer contracts and manage commercial risk (NEC experience preferred)

Manage change control, variations, and compensation events

Undertake cost analysis, value engineering, and risk management

Assess interim valuations, payments, and final accounts

Act as a key commercial interface with clients, designers, and contractors

    About You:

Strong experience as a Quantity Surveyor on large infrastructure or utilities projects

Proven knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3 / NEC4)

Confident operating in a client-facing, collaborative environment

Able to contribute at both strategic and delivery level

Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

Working towards or holding MRICS (desirable)

    What’s on Offer:

    Competitive salary and benefits package

Hybrid working (home + Warrington office)

Early-stage involvement on a nationally important infrastructure project

Supportive consultancy environment with clear progression opportunities

Exposure to long-term energy and utilities programmes

This is a rare opportunity to join a consultancy at the forefront of UK energy infrastructure, working on a technically complex and career-defining project from its earliest stages
