How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Quantity Surveyor – Brickwork Specialist

    Location: Enfield, North London (with site visits)
    Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 + package

    The Company

    My client is a well-established specialist subcontractor delivering masonry packages across residential and commercial projects throughout London and the South East.

    They have built a strong reputation with leading main contractors and operate in a fast-paced environment where decisions are made quickly and good people are trusted to get on with the job.

    The Role

    They are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor with strong brickwork / masonry package experience to take full commercial responsibility for multiple projects.

    You will be managing packages from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with site teams and directors.

    This is a hands-on role where you will be expected to run your own jobs.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Full commercial management of brickwork packages

    * Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts

    * Cost Value Reconciliation (CVRs) and financial reporting

    * Managing multiple live projects simultaneously

    * Liaising with site teams and main contractors

    * Attending site to assess progress and identify variations

    * Preparing and reviewing bills of quantities

    Requirements

    Essential:

    * Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor

    * Strong experience working on brickwork or masonry packages

    * Background working for a subcontractor or managing trade packages

    * Ability to manage projects commercially from start to completion

    * Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam

    Desirable:

    * Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar

    * Experience working on London-based residential developments

    * Knowledge of JCT contracts
