A leading infrastructure contractor is delivering a secured, long-term wastewater capital programme across South Wales. As the commercial team grows to meet the framework's workload, they are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take genuine ownership of a portfolio of live civil engineering schemes across South Wales.
The role
Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial responsibility for multiple wastewater capital schemes from procurement through to final account. You will also have a supporting role in mentoring junior surveyors as the team develops.
Day-to-day, you can expect to be working across:
Commercial management of treatment works upgrades, network improvements and associated civils
Subcontract procurement, negotiation and administration
Compensation event management under NEC Options A and C
CVR and cost forecasting, with direct reporting to senior management
Risk and opportunity management across the framework
Supporting and mentoring Project and Assistant Quantity SurveyorsAbout the framework
The programme covers a mix of treatment works, network infrastructure and associated civils for a major water utility client. Schemes vary in scale and complexity, providing broad exposure and genuine technical variety. This is a stable, long-term workload - not a single project hire.
What they are looking for
Senior QS or experienced Project QS ready to step up, with a background in utilities, water, wastewater or civils
Strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract (Options A and/or C)
Demonstrable experience managing subcontract packages and change control
Comfortable managing multiple concurrent schemes autonomously
Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred)
Experience on long-term frameworks or utility programmes is an advantageWhy this role
