How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team to deliver tailored strategies that meet the child’s individual needs.

Building a strong, trusting relationship will be key, as you support the pupil in developing communication skills, emotional regulation, and independence.

Helping manage routines, transitions, and classroom expectations
Implementing strategies to support emotional regulation and behaviour
Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
    Encouraging confidence, independence, and engagement
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and support staff

    What We’re Looking For

Experience supporting children with autism or SEN
A calm, patient, and consistent approach
    Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Understanding of behaviour and emotional support strategies
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

    Why This Role Stands Out

A meaningful 1:1 role where you can see real progress
Join a supportive and inclusive primary school
    Full-time, long-term stability
Opportunity to develop your experience in autism support
Ongoing guidance from your GSL Education consultant

If you’re a compassionate and dedicated support assistant ready to make a positive impact, this could be the perfect role for you.
