How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Lead Reporting Specialist (Power BI) — Project Controls

    📍London, Birmingham, Bristol or Manchester

    💷£65,000 – £75,000

Great dashboards don't just report the truth — they change the decision.

We're looking for a Lead Reporting Specialist to own the reporting function on some of the UK's most significant civil engineering and infrastructure programmes. This is a senior seat — the person who sets the standard, builds the stack, and makes sure the numbers actually land in the boardroom.

If you've spent your career inside project delivery, know Project Controls inside-out, and can build reporting that executives, PMs, and planners all trust — this one's for you.

This isn't a reporting job where you sit on the sidelines. You'll lead the digital reporting capability across cost, schedule, risk, and performance — shaping how programme directors and senior stakeholders see the truth of their projects. The reports you build will drive go/no-go calls, trend conversations, and board-level decisions on billion-pound programmes.

You'll set the architecture, raise the standard, and mentor the analysts underneath you. Your voice will carry weight from day one.

    What You Bring

    • Proven track record working in project delivery — you've lived it, not just reported on it. This is non-negotiable. Major projects exp
    • Knowledge of Project Controls and systems - cost, schedule, earned value, risk, change.
    • Advanced Power BI — DAX, data modelling, automated pipelines, governance. You build reporting environments, not just dashboards.
    • Experience integrating data from Project Controls tools like P6.
    • The credibility and communication skills to hold your own with senior stakeholders — planners, commercial leads, programme directors, and clients.
    • A natural lead — someone who can shape standards, coach analysts, and drive the digital reporting agenda forward.

Bonus: experience in nuclear, defence, rail, aviation, water, or major infrastructure environments.

This is the role where a strong Reporting Specialist stops being "the Power BI person" and becomes the leader of digital reporting on programmes that actually matter.
