We’re looking for a Commercial Lawyer to take on this brand new role to the organisation and be the point of contact for the sales teams across the globe.
Ideally the role will be based from our offices in Walsall or London.
About the Role
In this new role you will report into the Company Secretary and act as the main liaison and point of contact between the business and sales teams at TR as well as liaising with any external law firm as required. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the legal support and services engagement globally in TR, and facilitating communication between stakeholders, management, and external lawyers, monitoring service levels as well as the contracting process from start-to-finish, identifying opportunities for improvement, and reporting on key metrics.
In the role you will:
- Serve as the key point of contact for legal and contract matters within TR to provide support and advice for all commercial, sales, procurement, and contractual matters, including disputed issues.
- Support in negotiations to conclude contracts and commercial issues and report to management when issues need escalated.
- Provide legal and commercial training to colleagues
- Consult with external law firms for matters related to contracting support and legal services engagement.
- Identify, escalate, and help resolve any issues that arise related to delivery, communication, quality, timelines, or other aspects of the legal services engagement.
- Work closely with internal colleagues and any law firm to identify opportunities for continual improvement of service delivery and value add. Make recommendations accordingly.
- Stay up to date on TR’s legal needs and communicate these as needed.
- Owning and managing the change control process for the service – including the playbook, templates, tech platform etc
- Being responsible for the communication across the delivery team to ensure the team are kept up to date on any changes, improvement topics, knowledge sharing, etc.
About you
- Experience working within legal services, and advising and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts
- Ideally have experience of international contracts, or contracts subject to foreign laws and jurisdiction
- Robust negotiation skills, especially in the context of high value contracts with customers
- Excellent relationship management, written and oral communication, and people skills;
- An understanding of and interest in the application of legal technology and how it can be used to support service delivery.
- A good understanding of case management, workflow, and document automation technologies.
- Solution oriented and pro-active approach; excellent problem-solving skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage tasks on simultaneous workstreams
- Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail, as well as a drive to ensure consistent delivery of a high-quality service
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
- Knowledge of organisational practices and legal services best practices
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
