Lead the Design Authority for a critical Launch Management System (LMS) on major defence programmes involving complex missile integration for naval and land platforms. Operate within a leading European defence prime handling high-stakes weapon systems at scale.
Join a major defence contractor delivering sovereign capabilities for UK armed forces. Manage technical oversight across multi-disciplinary teams on live in-service support and upgrades.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee technical development, certification sign-off, and in-service support for LMS on Sea Ceptor and Land Ceptor programmes
- Maintain functional and physical design structures to enable verification, validation, and customer acceptance
- Engage across system design, software, electronics, mechanical engineering, reliability, safety, and cybersecurity
- Manage technical risks/opportunities aligned to product evolution and customer demands
- Drive requirements engineering at system/subsystem level for design certification
- Build relationships with design stakeholders and ensure team expertise development
Candidate profile:
- Proven design leadership for complex electronics subsystems in defence
- Strong systems engineering principles, processes, and tools (e.g., requirements management)
- Experience in hardware/software for computer-based equipment and validation procedures
- Knowledge of defence certification, risk management, and multi-disciplinary integration
- Ability to handle regulated environments with security clearance eligibility
