An elite US law firm is seeking a Privacy Counsel to join their well-established compliance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to move into an in-house role, while continuing to work on complex, cross-border data protection matters within a law firm.
Role Summary
The Privacy Counsel will support the organisation’s global data protection and privacy compliance framework, working closely with senior legal and compliance stakeholders.
You will act as a key point of contact for privacy-related issues and contribute to the ongoing development and maturity of the organisation’s privacy programme.
- Advising on privacy and data protection issues arising in commercial contracts, supplier arrangements, and internal projects
- Supporting assessments of privacy risk across new initiatives, vendors, and operational changes
- Assisting with privacy compliance monitoring, reviews, and governance activities
- Keeping up to date with developments in global privacy laws and supporting implementation of necessary changes
Candidate Profile
- Qualified lawyer with approximately 4–7 years’ relevant experience
- Strong grounding in data protection law, ideally including practical application of UK and EU GDPR
- Exposure to international privacy frameworks (e.g. US or other global regimes) is an advantage
- Experience working on contracts, advisory matters, or compliance-focused privacy work
