How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    MEP Designer – £100k + package - Leading Tier 1 Main Contractor


    A leading UK construction and development business is looking to appoint its first in-house MEP Designer as part of a strategic move to bring technical expertise internally.


    This is a key role within the organisation, working closely with pre-construction and delivery teams to provide deep technical input across major building projects.


    The Role

    You will take ownership of technical MEP design review and validation across a range of projects, ensuring quality, completeness, and buildability at tender and pre-construction stages.


    This is a highly technical position focused on design interrogation rather than commercial or coordination tasks.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Review and validate MEP designs provided by external consultants
    • Interrogate tender documentation to identify gaps, risks, and missing information
    • Provide technical input and challenge design proposals where necessary
    • Ensure MEP designs align with project requirements, standards, and buildability
    • Support pre-construction teams with expert technical insight
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to strengthen in-house MEP capability



    About You

    • Proven experience in MEP / Building Services Design (consultancy or contractor background)
    • Strong technical knowledge across mechanical and/or electrical systems
    • Experience reviewing and challenging consultant designs
    • Ability to identify design gaps and propose practical solutions
    • Comfortable working in a standalone or pioneering role
    • Strong communication skills with a detail-oriented mindset
