How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Support the implementation and ongoing development of the HSQE Management System

Assist in the preparation, review and implementation of RAMS, ITPs and quality documentation

Identify non-conformances, unsafe practices and environmental risks, ensuring corrective and preventative actions are implemented

Lead or support incident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and lessons learned are captured and communicated

Promote a strong behavioural safety culture and drive continuous improvement initiatives across projects

Liaise with clients, regulators and supply chain partners on SHEQ matters

Deliver toolbox talks, briefings and training where required

Support project teams in achieving "right first time" delivery and quality assurance standards

    Requirements

Proven experience in a SHEQ Advisor / Quality / HSE role within civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure sectors

Strong working knowledge of ISO management systems (9001, 14001, 45001)

    ISO 9001 Internal Auditor (essential)

NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (preferred)

Experience working on highways, utilities, rail or heavy civils projects

Understanding of National Highways Sector Schemes (desirable)

Strong communication, reporting and stakeholder engagement skills

Ability to influence site teams and drive behavioural change

Proactive, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to site

    What's on Offer

Opportunity to work with a leading civil engineering contractor on secured long-term frameworks

Exposure to a range of infrastructure and utilities projects

Supportive team environment with clear career progression opportunities

    Ongoing professional development and training

    Competitive salary and benefits package

    About the Opportunity

This role offers the chance to play a key part in improving SHEQ performance across critical infrastructure projects. You will be joining a business committed to high standards, continuous improvement and delivering work safely and efficiently.

If you are looking for a role where you can make a tangible impact on project delivery and SHEQ culture, this is an excellent opportunity to progress your career.
