How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We’re BDO, a global network connected to local markets. Our people work together to provide specialist expertise, helping businesses achieve their goals and grow.

We inspire others, to go further. We create together, to reach higher. We build trust, to lead purposefully.

Whether you're building your future or starting your career – with us, you won’t do it alone. From creating solutions for our clients to building careers for our people, we shape what matters, and that’s where you come in.

Role: Specialist, Risk and Remediation (Ethics & Independence)

    Role Summary

We’re looking for an experienced individual to join our Global Ethics & Independence (E&I) team, focusing on Monitoring, Remediation, and Risk Reporting. In this role, you will help manage the department’s end-to-end monitoring and risk programme - overseeing breach reporting, coordinating remediation activities, supporting annual confirmation processes, and driving improvements across our global risk framework.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, detail oriented professional with a strong background in risk management, ethics, compliance, or independence within a global or professional services environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage and track breaches of regulations and policies reported by BDO network firms via the global reporting portal.
    • Coordinate the development, approval, and implementation of remediation plans resulting from reported breaches.
    • Support the enhancement of breach tracking processes, data analytics, and reporting dashboards.
    • Lead coordination of the Global Annual Breaches Confirmation process with member firms.
    • Track outcomes from firms’ internal inspection programmes relating to Ethics & Independence.
    • Prepare structured, high quality reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Support the Managers with daily operations, governance activities, and project coordination.
    • Serve as an effective communication bridge between the Risk Manager and other business units.
    • Monitor global implementation of risk mitigating actions for identified issues.
    • Collect, analyze, and consolidate data for risk assessments, incident management, and trend reporting.

    Skills & Qualifications

    • 10+ years of experience in risk management, independence, ethics, compliance, or a closely related field.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organisational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple concurrent projects.
    • High attention to detail and a thorough, conscientious approach to work.
    • Demonstrated accountability, reliability, and ownership of deliverables.
    • Motivated team contributor who can also work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for enhancing processes and service delivery.

    What We Offer

    • Fully remote role with global exposure.
    • Opportunity to contribute to a high impact global compliance and risk function.
    • Collaborative team culture and professional growth within an international organisation.

    Why BDO?

At BDO, your ideas matter. You’re encouraged to think beyond the expected, explore new possibilities, and shape your own path. Here, you can make a meaningful impact, on your career, on your community, and on the future we build together.

We’re a people‑powered organisation, united by our diverse strengths and shared ambition. You’ll join a collaborative global team that values your perspective, amplifies your ideas, and supports your growth. Through global connections, shared knowledge, and opportunities for mobility, you’ll be part of something bigger: creating solutions that matter.

We build trust, to lead purposefully

Your expertise drives real outcomes at BDO. You’ll be part of an organisation that is trusted, recognised, and respected worldwide. With a strong commitment to integrity, sustainability, and positive impact, you'll be empowered to lead with purpose, both in the work you deliver, and in the communities where you live and work.
