How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Part-Time, Remote, UK based

Up to 20 hours per week, worked evenly across five days (Monday to Friday)

    About Us

Operam Academy is an established and growing provider of education and training to the global construction industry. We help companies build the knowledge and confidence they need to work collaboratively and manage information effectively.

We are a small, UK based remote team with an ambitious growth strategy and a strong focus on doing things well and value people who enjoy improving how things are done.

    The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Finance & Operations Administrator who not only takes pride in doing things accurately but is curious about improving how everyday tasks are done

This is a hands‑on, finance‑led role, with some operational and team support alongside it. It will suit someone who enjoys working with numbers and processes and learning new systems, tools and approaches over time.

We’re supportive of change and modern tools, including AI, so we’re looking for someone who enjoys learning, builds confidence quickly and is open to new ways of working.

    The Role

Your work will focus primarily on finance, with additional operational support as needed. You’ll work closely with the Head of Operations & Growth and the Founder, supporting day‑to‑day finance, operations and administration. The role is varied and hands‑on with a real opportunity to make an impact in a lean, collaborative team.

    Finance (primary focus):

    • Assisting with bookkeeping, purchasing, VAT, PAYE and financial reporting
    • Processing invoices, expenses and payments accurately and on time
    • Supporting cash‑flow tracking, budgets and basic forecasting
    • Supplier onboarding
    • Dealing with account queries
    • Maintaining accurate records and reconciliations
    • Using internal systems to ensure financial data is complete and reliable

    Operations and team support (secondary):

    • Day‑to‑day administrative support for the team
    • Supporting repeatable processes across finance and operations
    • Liaising with colleagues and suppliers to keep things moving
    • Identifying simple improvements to processes and ways of working
    • Supporting recruitment and onboarding
    • Maintaining personnel and company records

    Systems you’ll work with

    • QuickBooks Online
    • Fathom (financial forecasting)
    • Microsoft Office 365
    • AI-assisted tools

    Ways of Working

This role provides essential day‑to‑day cover, so reliability and availability matter.

    • 20 hours per week worked across five days
    • Hours worked within core business hours (10am–4pm)
    • Predictable, consistent availability rather than ad‑hoc working
    • Fully remote with quarterly travel to London, expenses paid
    • Up to £28k pro‑rata (based on 40 hours), depending on experience
    • 25 days annual leave (pro‑rata)
    • Workplace pension

    About you

    • You’ll be a strong fit for the role if you have:
    • Strong practical bookkeeping and basic accounting skills
    • Experience with financial reporting, cash flow and budgets
    • Payroll knowledge (highly desirable)
    • Confidence using modern finance, CRM and Microsoft 365 tools
    • An enjoyment of learning new skills and building confidence over time
    • A curious about systems, processes and how things fit together
    • An interest in how technology, including AI can support everyday work

    • A short cover note explaining why this role appeals to you

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a brief introductory video call, followed by a focused interview using practical, scenario‑based questions.
