Finatal are partnering with a high-growth, PE-backed infrastructure business to appoint a Financial Controller into a newly created position. Backed by a leading private equity firm, the business operates across critical infrastructure assets and is at an exciting stage of its growth journey - offering the incoming FC a genuine opportunity to shape the finance function and operate as a key voice at senior leadership level.
The Role:
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Financial Controller will own the end-to-end financial reporting and control environment for the group. This is a hands-on leadership role with broad scope, sitting at the heart of a lean, high-performing finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the monthly consolidated management accounts and board reporting pack, ensuring accuracy and delivery to tight deadlines
- Lead the statutory reporting process, including year-end accounts and audit, acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors
- Maintain and continuously improve the financial controls framework across the group
- Oversee cash flow reporting, treasury management, and working capital optimisation
- Partner with the CFO on PE reporting requirements, covenant compliance, and lender reporting
- Drive the budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with the FP&A function
- Manage and develop a small finance team, building capability and capacity in line with business growth
- Support M&A activity and integration workstreams as required
Requirements:
- ACA qualified or equivalent, ideally trained within a Big 4 or Top 10 practice
- Demonstrable experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role within a PE-backed or infrastructure environment
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with a track record of owning statutory and management reporting end-to-end
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Confident communicator with the gravitas to engage senior stakeholders and PE investors
- Experience managing or mentoring finance team members
