Role Overview:
The HR Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative and operational support across all areas of HR, ensuring efficient delivery of HR processes and a positive employee experience.
This is a hands-on role ideal for a graduate or junior professional looking to develop a career in HR within a dynamic and growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. HR Administration & Employee Lifecycle
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparing contracts, offer letters, and exit documentation
- Maintain accurate employee records on HR systems
- Assist with probation tracking, contract changes, and employee status updates
- Manage HR inbox and respond to routine employee queries in a timely manner
2. Recruitment & Talent Support
- Coordinate interview scheduling and candidate communications
- Support job posting and CV screening processes
- Assist in preparing interview packs and tracking recruitment progress
- Maintain candidate records and ensure a positive candidate experience
3. Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Support monthly payroll preparation, including data collection and validation
- Assist with benefits administration (e.g. Pension, insurance, car schemes)
- Track employee absences, annual leave, and other HR metrics
4. HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure HR documentation is compliant with UK employment legislation and company policies
- Support implementation of HR policies and procedures
- Assist with audits and reporting as required
- Maintain confidentiality and data protection in line with GDPR
5. Employee Engagement & Office Support
- Support organisation of employee events and internal communications
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives and surveys
- Provide general administrative support to the HR and Admin function
6. Learning & Development (L&D) Support
- Support the coordination and administration of training programmes and learning initiatives
- Maintain training records and monitor employee training completion
- Assist in organising internal and external training sessions, including logistics and communications
- Support onboarding training plans and induction programmes for new joiners
- Assist in tracking learning needs and development plans in collaboration with managers
- Provide administrative support for performance management and development-related processes
7. Additional Responsibilities
- Carry out any other ad hoc duties as reasonably required by the line manager
- Provide flexible support across HR and administrative functions in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
Essential requirement
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Desirable requirement
- Previous HR internship or administrative experience
- Knowledge of UK employment law basics
- Familiarity with HR systems (e.g. Moorepay, SuccessFactors)
- Working towards or interested in pursuing CIPD qualification
