Fractional Financial Controller/Director

MacGregor Black are partnering with a well-established £10m turnover Food & Drink business in London to appoint a Fractional Finance professional (1 day per week).
This is a high-impact, flexible opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to work closely with the senior leadership team, strengthening financial visibility across the business through improved forecasting, reporting, and commercial insight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and enhance monthly management reporting, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and timely delivery
- Develop and improve budgeting and forecasting processes, embedding a structured planning cycle
- Provide cash flow visibility and forward-looking financial insight to support business planning
- Analyse sales, margins, and overhead performance, partnering with stakeholders to explain variances
- Support senior leadership with commercial decision-making through financial insight and modelling
- Work alongside transactional finance support to ensure robust underlying financial data
- Introduce improved reporting frameworks and performance tracking
- Support ad hoc analysis and strategic projects as required
- Act as a trusted finance partner to the senior leadership team on a fractional basis
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
- Strong background in FP&A, Finance Business Partnering, or Commercial Finance
- Experience operating within SME or owner-managed business environments
- Strong forecasting, budgeting, and analytical capability
- Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience advantageous
- Able to translate financial data into clear commercial insight for non-finance stakeholders
- Proactive, self-sufficient, and comfortable in a fractional/part-time capacity
- Strong communicator with ability to influence senior stakeholders
