How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Supporting installation work when trained and required
Working flexibly as part of a responsive engineering team
    Hours & Working Pattern

    40 hours per week (standard hours: 8am – 4pm)
Reactive work required depending on lift breakdowns
Flexibility is essential, as call-outs can vary
Flexibility works both ways – time can be given back or adjusted when engineers exceed hours
Early finishes may be available where workload allows and commitments are met
    Salary & Benefits

    £38,000 per year starting salary
Overtime paid at:Time and a half (after 10pm)
Double time (weekends and bank holidays)
Company van provided (fully equipped, top specification, kept at home)
    Company phone and tablet provided
    Tools supplied
    Ongoing training and development
Opportunity to progress into installation work
    Requirements of a Lift Engineer

Ideally NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering (must be able to demonstrate qualification)
Strong experience in lift service and repair preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Flexible and reactive approach to workload
Strong communication and customer service skills
    Full UK driving licence
Must be able to pass an enhanced DBS check (due to working in schools and with vulnerable people)
    Culture & Team Fit

We are a small, supportive, family-style business where teamwork matters. We are looking for someone reliable, adaptable, and proud of their work. In return, we offer trust, flexibility, and long-term stability rather than a rigid corporate environment.
