How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electro-Mechanical Technician
    Halifax
    £15.77 per hour
    38 hours per week | Monday-Friday (12:30 finish Friday)

    Our engineering client based in Halifax is looking to recruit a skilled Electro-Mechanical Technician to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electro-Mechanical Technician to work in a high-quality manufacturing environment building and calibrating precision instruments and equipment.

    As an Electro-Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for assembling, testing and calibrating products to ensure the highest standards of quality are consistently achieved. The Electro-Mechanical Technician will work closely with internal departments to support production, quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    Build and assemble mechanical and electrical components to produce high-quality instruments.
    Calibrate equipment and ensure all products meet strict quality standards and procedures.
    Follow ISO quality processes and ensure measurement equipment is used correctly.
    Complete documentation including quality plans, NCRs and system updates accurately.
    Install and verify correct software revisions where required.
    Work collaboratively with operations, planning, distribution and service teams.
    Support continuous improvement activities within the department.
    Maintain excellent housekeeping, health and safety, and working practices.
    Assist with stock control processes and accurate system bookings.
    The Candidate
    The successful Electro-Mechanical Technician will ideally have:

    Apprentice training (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
    HNC level qualification or equivalent engineering experience.
    Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
    Strong electrical and mechanical assembly skills.
    Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and work independently or as part of a team.
    Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
    What's on Offer

    38-hour working week
    Monday to Friday schedule
    Early finish at 12:30pm on Fridays
