How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Class 2 Driver / Yard Operative (Hybrid Role)

    Temp to Perm Opportunity

    We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hard‑working Class 2 Driver / Yardman to join a busy waste management company. This is a hybrid role, combining Class 2 vehicle driving (40%) with hands‑on yard duties (60%), offering variety and steady weekday work.

    This position is temporary to permanent for the right candidate.

    Role Details

    Pay Rate: £19.50 per hour
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
    Contract: Temp to Perm
    Location: Paddock Wood

    Key Responsibilities

    Driving a Class 2 vehicle to carry out collections and movements as required
    General yard duties, including:

    Loading and unloading waste materials
    Breaking down items in the yard
    Assisting with waste disposal operations
    Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment

    Working closely with the yard and transport teams to ensure smooth daily operations

    Requirements

    Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
    Minimum 6 months Class 2 driving experience
    CPC and Digital Tachograph card (essential)
    No more than 6 points on your licence
    Physically fit and capable of manual work due to the nature of yard duties
    Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working outdoors
    Good understanding of health and safety procedures
