Teaching Assistant

A well-regarded secondary school in Enfield is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This position is ideally suited to graduates who are considering a career in teaching and are looking to gain valuable, first-hand classroom experience before progressing onto a PGCE, School Direct, or SCITT programme.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teaching staff to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, contributing to both their academic progress and personal development. The school is known for its supportive leadership, structured behaviour systems, and strong mentoring, making it an excellent environment for aspiring teachers.

Key Responsibilities:
* Support students in lessons across a variety of subjects
* Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions
* Assist with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
* Promote engagement, confidence, and positive behaviour
* Develop an understanding of planning, assessment, and classroom management

The Ideal Candidate:
* A graduate in any subject area
* A genuine interest in pursuing a career in education
* Confident, professional, and enthusiastic when working with young people
* Experience with young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, coaching) is beneficial but not essential
