Position: Tool Room Technician

Position: permanent

Location: Birmingham

Salary £29950 to £34200 per annum

Working hours: 7am – 4pm. 37 hours per week Monday to Friday

We are now seeking to recruit a Tool Room Technician to support the tool room operations within a manufacturing facility in Birmingham. The appropriate Toolroom technician will ensure the proper maintenance, repair, and availability of tools and equipment required for production.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance and inspections on a variety of tools and equipment, including machining tools, cutting tools, and precision measuring instruments, to ensure they are in proper working condition.
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with tools and equipment and perform repairs as necessary to minimize downtime and production delays.
Assist in the calibration of precision tools and equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
Assist in the assembly and disassembly of tools and equipment as needed for maintenance, repair, or replacement of parts.
Maintain detailed documentation of all tool-related activities, including maintenance procedures, repair records, inventory transactions, and other relevant information.
What are we looking for?

Previous experience working in a tool room or maintenance role within a manufacturing environment is desirable.
Injection Moulding experience
competent with conventional machining.
Knowledge of mechanical tools and equipment, including machining tools, cutting tools, and precision measuring instruments.
Ability to use hand and power tools effectively for maintenance and repair tasks.
