How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Structural Engineer role paying up to £50,000 plus other benefits! Join a well-established engineering team delivering diverse projects across the water, chemical, and process industries, with easy access from Leeds, Wakefield, Bradford and surrounding areas, plus free onsite parking.

    Salary and Benefits

    Annual Salary Between £45,000 - £50,000 (DOE)
    1.30pm Finish Every Friday
    25 Holidays + 8 Bank Holidays (Increasing with Years of Service)

    Healthcare Cashback PlanPurpose of the Structural Engineer

    The Structural Engineer is responsible for making sure buildings and infrastructure are safe, stable and capable of carrying loads throughout their lifespan. Design structures so they can withstand forces and to calculate loads and stresses to ensure materials are used safely and efficiently.

    Key Responsibilities of the Structural Engineer:

    Design and analyse steel structures, steel elements, and connections.
    Produce and review detailed engineering calculations (including hand calculations).
    Conduct site visits to assess existing structures, gather data, and provide engineering input.
    Collaborate with design, fabrication, and installation teams to ensure the project's success.
    Prepare technical structural reports, structural drawings, and specifications.
    Ensure designs comply with relevant codes (Eurocodes), standards, and regulations.
    Provide technical support during fabrication and site installation phases.

    Essential Criteria of the Structural Engineer

    Degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering.
    Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in structural steel design.
    Proficiency in STAAD Pro Structural Software.
    Experience with Tekla Structures is highly desirable.
    Strong knowledge of structural analysis and connection design.
