We are currently working with a well-regarded law firm in South Yorkshire who are looking to recruit an experienced Criminal Defence Paralegal to join their busy criminal law team. The role is based across their regional offices, with opportunities to be involved in a varied and fast-paced caseload.
This is a hands-on position, well suited to someone with a solid grounding in criminal defence work who is confident managing files independently while supporting solicitors through all stages of the criminal process.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be expected to:
Manage your own caseload of criminal defence matters from instruction through to conclusion
Attend police stations to advise and represent clients at early stages (or be willing to undertake accreditation if not already held)
Carry out legal research to support case preparation and ensure up-to-date knowledge of legislation and case law
Draft a range of legal documentation accurately and efficiently
Take instructions, prepare statements, and assist with mitigation work where required
Provide clear, consistent updates and guidance to clients throughout their case
Work closely with colleagues, external agencies, and other professionals to progress matters effectively
Candidate Profile

Ideally have police station attendance experience or are working towards accreditation
