Corporate Tax Manager

I am currently supporting a well established independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Reigate that is looking to expand its tax team with the appointment of a Corporate Tax Manager or Mixed Tax Manager.

This opportunity offers a salary starting from £40,000 up to £60,000, with the potential for a higher package for individuals who can demonstrate the relevant technical expertise and experience.

The Opportunity

The firm acts for a broad portfolio of owner managed businesses, SMEs and corporate groups across a range of sectors. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a capable tax professional who can manage compliance responsibilities while contributing to advisory projects and supporting junior members of the team.

This role would suit someone with a minimum of four years experience within an accountancy practice, specifically working within a tax department.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Tax Focus

Managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients and overseeing all compliance deadlines

Reviewing corporation tax computations and returns prepared by junior staff

Advising on tax planning matters including group structuring, R and D claims, capital allowances and shareholder planning

Supporting corporate transactions including incorporations, restructures and due diligence assignments

Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients and managing enquiries

Identifying advisory opportunities and adding value to client relationships

Mixed Tax Focus

Managing a portfolio covering both corporate and personal tax clients

Reviewing personal tax returns and advising on income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax matters

Supporting directors and business owners with tax efficient remuneration planning

Advising on capital gains planning, share schemes and succession planning

Delivering proactive and commercially focused tax advice

Across both routes, you will also:

Supervise and mentor junior team members

Support partners with complex advisory work

Contribute to technical development within the team

Assist with business development and networking where appropriate

RequirementsCandidate Profile

Minimum four years experience within a practice based tax department

Strong technical grounding in corporate tax or mixed tax

ATT or CTA qualified preferred

ACA or ACCA qualified candidates with strong tax exposure will also be considered

Confident communicator with strong client management skills

Proactive, commercially aware and keen to progress
