How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Registered Manager - 3 Bed Children's LD Home
    Newcastle
    £50,000 - £60,000 (DOE)
    Brand-New, High-Spec Service - Ready for Registration

    I am currently working in partnership with a well-established children's residential care provider (operating successfully for over 20 years) to recruit a Registered Manager for a brand-new 3-bed Learning Disabilities children's home in Newcastle.
    This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to take full ownership of a new, high-spec service from day one. The home is ready to be registered and the successful candidate will lead the Ofsted registration process, build the staff team and embed a positive, child-centred culture from the outset.

    The Opportunity
    This role would suit:

    An experienced Registered Manager looking for a fresh challenge and the chance to shape a new service, or
    A strong and ambitious Deputy Manager with solid LD leadership experience who is ready to step up into their first Registered Manager position.The provider has a strong reputation within the sector and offers hands-on support from an experienced senior leadership team.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead Ofsted registration and ensure full regulatory compliance
    Recruit and develop an entire staff team, including Deputies and Support Workers
    Establish a therapeutic, structured, and nurturing home environment
    Maintain high safeguarding standards and risk management practices
    Oversee personalised care planning and positive behaviour support
    Manage budgets, occupancy, and operational performance
    Develop strong relationships with Local Authorities and external professionals
    Drive the service toward positive Ofsted outcomesEssential Requirements

    Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (Children & Young People) - essential
    Proven leadership experience within a children's residential Learning Disabilities (LD) setting
    Experience at Deputy Manager or Registered Manager level
    Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Quality Standards
    Experience recruiting, leading, and developing staff teams
