Ringway Milton Keynes is looking to recruit an Agent to support the delivery of a variety of small highways schemes, surfacing, specialist treatments, fencing, drainage and other reactive and planned works across the network.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong site experience who is ready to progress into a supervisory role, or for an existing junior or trainee supervisor looking to further develop their skills within a supportive team.
The Role
As an Agent, you’ll play a key role in overseeing day‑to‑day site operations, supporting scheme delivery, and ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
You’ll spend the majority of your time out on site, working closely with gangs, subcontractors and supervisors, with the remaining time supporting planning, reporting and coordination activities from the office.
Works will range from planned programmes to reactive maintenance, requiring flexibility, strong site awareness and confident decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting delivery of small highways schemes, surfacing, drainage, fencing and specialist treatments
- Managing and supervising gangs on site, ensuring productivity and quality standards are met
- Carrying out site audits, inspections and quality checks
- Ensuring works are delivered in line with Health & Safety requirements and company procedures
- Supporting reactive works and responding to site issues as they arise
- Assisting with programme updates, reporting and coordination with the wider team
- Acting as a key link between site teams, supervisors and management
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has strong highways site experience
- Is ready to step off the tools into supervision, or is already working in a junior/trainee supervisory role
- Has good knowledge of highways activities such as surfacing, drainage and reactive works
- Is confident managing people on site and communicating with different stakeholders
- Takes a proactive, hands‑on approach to problem solving
- Is keen to develop and progress within a supervisory career path
