Job Title: Legal Secretary – Employment
Location: Chelmsford
Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 (depending on experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Legal Secretary to join our clients Employment Law team based in Chelmsford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced secretary to support fee earners within a busy and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing full secretarial and administrative support to Employment solicitors
- Audio and copy typing of legal documentation, correspondence, and reports
- Managing diaries, scheduling meetings, and coordinating appointments
- Preparing and formatting legal documents and bundles
- Handling client enquiries in a professional and confidential manner
- Managing incoming and outgoing post, emails, and telephone calls
- Maintaining and updating client files in line with compliance procedures
- Assisting with billing, time recording, and general administrative duties
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary (Employment Law experience preferred)
- Strong audio typing and document formatting skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
- Strong communication and client care skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Knowledge of case management systems is advantageous
