How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Agricultural Service Engineer

    Location: Newmarket

    Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

    Pay: £18 to £22 per hour depending on experience, OTE £45,000 to £60,000+

    We’re working with a globally recognised agricultural engineering business that is investing heavily in its people and technology. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for an Agricultural Service Engineer to join their expanding team in a field based role, offering variety, autonomy and genuine career progression.

    What You’ll Be Doing as an Agricultural Service Engineer:

    ·      Carry out servicing, maintenance and repair of a wide range of agricultural machinery and equipment

    ·      Diagnose faults using a mix of hands on expertise and modern diagnostic tools and software

    ·      Work both in the field and workshop, keeping customers up and running with minimal downtime

    ·      Build strong relationships with customers through clear communication and reliable service

    ·      Deliver consistently high standards of workmanship while following health and safety best practices

    What We’re Looking for in an Agricultural Service Engineer:

    ·      Experience as an Agricultural Service Engineer or within plant, automotive, HGV or similar engineering environments

    ·      A practical, hands on approach with strong fault finding and problem solving skills

    ·      Confident communicator who can work effectively with customers and colleagues

    ·      Motivated to learn, develop and progress within a structured training environment

    ·      Flexible attitude towards seasonal demands and peak periods
