My client, a respected specialist manufacturer of industrial and commercial door solutions, is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead and enhance its sales performance and office operations.

As the Sales Manager you will be responsible for
The Sales Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the sales team while leading the sales function from initial enquiry through to tender submission and conversion. This is a hands-on role requiring both strategic oversight and active involvement in pricing, customer engagement, and internal coordination. You will play a key role in improving conversion rates from a strong monthly enquiry pipeline (£1.2m – £1.4m), ensuring opportunities are maximised and customer relationships are effectively managed.
Office & Team Leadership - Oversee the daily operations of the sales team, ensuring efficiency and organisation and support a positive, professional, and high-performance working environment
Sales Management & Tendering - Lead the full sales process from enquiry through to tender submission and follow-up, prepare, price, and review tenders before submission to clients, improve conversion rates by implementing effective sales strategies and follow-up processes,monitor and manage a high volume of monthly quotations
Customer Relationship Management - Maintain exceptional customer service standards in line with company reputation, build and develop long-term relationships with commercial and industrial clients, handle and resolve customer issues quickly and professionally
Technical & Operational Coordination - Liaise with technical, production and operations to ensure smooth project delivery, provide authoritative input when required on technical or operational matters, attend pre-start meetings with clients to review project scope and expectations
Financial & Reporting Duties - Prepare monthly applications for payment and issue invoices as required, review and approve engineers’ weekly wages, produce monthly sales and performance reports for senior management
Performance & Targets - Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets, identify opportunities to grow revenue across new and existing clients, contribute to the company’s overall growth strategy
The successful Sales Manager will have the following experience
Essential - Proven experience in industrial door sales (e.g. roller shutters, steel hinged doors, fire curtains, sectional doors, high-speed doors, fire/security rated doors), a strong background in tendering, estimating, and commercial sales processes with the ability to manage multiple enquiries and prioritise effectively and a confident communicator with leadership capability
Desirable - Existing industry network and knowledge of key contractors, facilities managers, and decision-makers with experience improving sales conversion rates within a technical or construction-related environment alongside familiarity with service contracts and aftercare sales
