How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Pattern Prep Technician – Northamptonshire – Salary DOE + Overtime + Benefits – REF 063

    Northamptonshire
    Mon – Fri
    Days – 8:00am – 4:30pm

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading advanced manufacturing organisation specialising in high-performance carbon fibre components supplied into the automotive, motorsport, aerospace, and medical sectors.

    With a strong reputation for quality, precision, and innovation, the business continues to grow and invest in its people. This role offers the chance to join a skilled team in a fast-paced, high-standard engineering environment.

    The Role:

    Reporting into the Team Leader, you will support the day-to-day running of the department, ensuring work is completed efficiently, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

    Key responsibilities include:
    • Final preparation of patterns, moulds, and castings
    • Using hand tools, air tools, and abrasives to achieve high-quality finishes
    • Working independently where required to meet production demands
    • Checking drawings and route card instructions for accuracy and clarity
    • Supporting process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency
    • Maintaining equipment and ensuring it is in good working condition

    Skills & Experience Needed:

    • Experience in a manufacturing or similar hands-on environment
    • Ability to read engineering drawings (advantageous but not essential)
    • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
    • Good understanding of health and safety practices
    • Strong communication and listening skills
    • Ability to follow instructions and work to tight deadlines
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
