How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client is a well established and successful company. They are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer (FLT / MHE repairs) / Forklift Truck Engineer to join their team.

    The purpose of the job is to provide customer support with the company’s range of industrial and access machinery within the region, with a primary focus on keeping the machinery in peak operating condition through scheduled maintenance, repairs and inspections.

    PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

    * Several years experience in Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) or Forklift Truck (FLT) engineering / servicing / maintenance

    * Solid mechanical aptitude

    * Excellent verbal, written and critical thinking skills

    * Proficiency with MS Office

    * Interpersonal relationships

    * Customer and commercial awareness

    * Ability to work without supervision

    * Team player

    Salary and other benefits:

    * Company van is provided.

    * Salary: £16.00 - £18.00 per hour + Overtime, paid at time and a half + Many benefits.

    * Hours of work: 40 hours a week.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Provide onsite customer support to the company’s range of industrial and access machinery within the region, with a primary focus on keeping the machinery in peak operating condition through scheduled maintenance, repairs and inspections

    * Investigate, diagnose and resolve customer reports of technical problems with equipment

    * Service a wide variety of machines both on and off site

    * Ability to work independently to troubleshoot and solve problems

    * Complete job cards to a high standard promptly and within a given timeframe

    * Complete paperwork and timesheets in a timely manner

    * Request parts efficiently and effectively

    * Good customer service skills

    * Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers

    * Ensure compliance with relevant procedures when repairing and inspecting equipment

    * Ensure work/personal equipment complies with all safety standards

    * Present a professional image at all times

    * Take responsibility for health and safety of self, colleagues and customers in line with the Company Health and Safety Policy

    This role would suit someone with previous experience in a similar role, such as a MHE Mechanic / Material Handling Equipment Engineer / Hydraulics Engineer / Field Service Engineer / Forklift Truck Technician / FLT Engineer / MHE Technician / Mechanical Fitter / Plant Fitter / Plant Mechanic / Field Service Technician / Mobile Service Engineer / Cherry Picker Engineer / Scissor Lift Technician / etc
